Who operates the aircraft
In India, charter flights are flown by operators holding a Non-Scheduled Operator Permit (NSOP) issued by the DGCA. The operator is responsible for the aircraft, the crew and the safe conduct of the flight.
A concierge such as JDELITE does not fly the aircraft. Our role is to compare options from licensed operators, check the details, and coordinate everything around the flight, from catering to the car waiting at the other end.
How a quote is built
Most charter quotes are based on flying hours, often with a minimum number of billable hours per day. If the aircraft has to fly empty to collect you or return to base, those positioning hours are usually included in the price.
On top of flying time you may see airport and handling charges, crew accommodation for overnight trips, catering and applicable taxes. A good quote lists each of these clearly, so you can compare like with like.
Choosing the right aircraft
The right aircraft depends on the number of passengers, the amount of luggage, the length of the route and the runways at both ends. A light jet suits short hops for a few people; longer routes or larger groups need a midsize or larger cabin.
Helicopters make sense for short distances where roads are slow, subject to landing permissions at both ends.
How much notice you need
Domestic flights can often be arranged within a day, depending on aircraft and crew availability. International flights need overflight and landing permissions and usually take longer to arrange.
Peak dates, such as long weekends and the wedding season, fill early. If your dates are fixed, it pays to ask as soon as you know them.
Questions worth asking
Which operator will fly the aircraft, and what is the aircraft's registration? What exactly is included in the price, and what could be added later? What happens if the flight is delayed or cancelled by either side? What luggage can the aircraft actually carry?
JDELITE asks these questions for you and shares the answers in writing before anything is confirmed.
